We are thrilled to announce this month’s Chicago Home + Garden spread on our fabulous city retreat project! Written by Lisa Cregan, featuring photography by Werner Straube and styling by Christina Dunne-Anderson, we were delighted that such a cool, minimalist project could be shared by all. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
A big ‘thank you’ to Today’s Chicago Woman for spotlighting Jessica’s home and gorgeous collections. Not only did they capture beautiful original Louis Sullivan architectural details (not to mention the fantastic custom cheetah rug on the stairs), but also honed in on her love of timeless treasures collected from her jaunts around the world.

The African masks shown below are called ‘passport masks’ – TCW quoted Jessica explaining that not only were they used as identification, they also warded off evil spirits.

Shagreen is a material that has a special place in Jessica’s heart. It is stingray skin and has a truly incredible texture. Not only does it dye beautifully, it is surprisingly durable. It can be used as a small wrap (as shown here in the boxes), to upholstery of larger furniture. Jessica’s collection shows just how variant and lovely shagreen really is!

And of course.. a special ‘thank you’ to Adrian Orozco of Drizz Design for the incredible photography!

Last week, we had the most delightful visit from Patrick Zubrod, our fabulous sales representative (whom we always love to see!), and Barbara Sallick, cofounder and senior vice president of design, both of Waterworks. As always, the products were beautiful, and it was particularly fun to have Barbara there to tell us all about them. She showed us the new Kitchen & Bar Brochure and one of the amazing copper bar sinks…

…and told us all about the luxurious lotions and potions of the Apothecary line…

…but we particularly loved the beautiful “Grove Brickworks“ tiles made of actual handmade red clay - Jessica immediately declared them ‘sexy and perfect for the kitchen’! They are just the blend of perfect imperfection that we love – a little rough around the edges and not too precious. And certainly not expected!

Many thanks to Barbara and Patrick for visiting our new office and giving such a lovely presentation! We’re already looking forward to next time.

We are pleased to announce our relocation to a beautiful new office! It’s chaos right now (as all moves are), but will all come together in the end (as all moves do). We will be certain to post photos of our sun-filled second-floor studio when everything is in place. In the meantime, be sure to update your address book, and the mailer will go out soon…

Many thanks to the Elle Decor Designer Registry for making Jessica Lagrange Interiors their featured interior designer today! We were ecstatic to get the Twitter feed, and love their site. It’s such a well-designed, comprehensive, and easy-to-navigate resource for anyone looking for a designer or just a ton of inspiration. We are so flattered to be part of such a fabulous site (by one of our favorite magazines)…definitely check it out!
19 May 2011 :

We are so excited to be featured on the newest episode of Bring It Home! It premiers Sunday, May 15th, at 11am on WGN-TV, and will air throughout the week on CLTV (check their web site or local listings for times). It’s a great show “all about making fabulous home design accessible to everyone” that features the best in the Chicago interior design community, all in collaboration with Chicago Home + Garden.
Host Rochelle Vayo Adkinson and Jessica will feature one of our favorite recent projects…their Facebook page sums it up best: “You’d think a room with no color in it would be boring, but guess again. This weekend, Rochelle’s trying to recreate a space with almost no color, but lots of style! Designed by Jessica Lagrange.”
Jessica had so much fun filming the show with Rochelle, and we can’t wait to see the end result. Check out a clip here, and be sure to tune in on Sunday morning…
…Update! Now that it has aired, be sure to check out the full episode here. We can now reveal that it features the interior design of the City Retreat, a very lovely, modern apartment on Michigan Avenue that relies less on color and ornament than on clean lines and texture (and a great art collection, which is always a plus). Enjoy!

It’s been an exciting day for us in the blog world! ORBA (Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams Ltd) has a really fantastic blog; for a pretty specialized firm (CPA), they clearly spend a lot of time and effort to bring together interesting articles from all types of industries. So, we couldn’t have been more flattered when they asked us to contribute! It is the first of what may even become a small series (if they’ll have us!), but for our first article, we wanted to answer a question we get a lot: How do I find the right interior designer? Of course, one answer is just to hire us…but seriously, it is extremely important to find the right fit for your particular project and personality, and it can be a tough question to answer. We endeavor to do just that here…enjoy!

Many thanks to DesignShuffle.com for taking the time to chat with Jessica and blog about it! They were kind enough to feature one of our favorite projects, a ‘Gold Coast Residence’ for a Chicago couple on Lake Shore Drive.
We are big fans of this new site, which serves as an easy way to upload photos of interiors and arrange them in an online inspiration ‘portfolio’. We are so happy to be included, and even happier with the feature. You can read the whole interview here.

Many thanks to the Chicago Tribune for featuring our Vintage Lake Shore Residence in their ‘Trib’ magazine (and on its cover!) this past Sunday. Written by Lisa Skolnik, featuring photography by Bill Hogan, and styled by Christina Dunne Anderson, we couldn’t be more pleased. We will add the link when it becomes available, but in the meantime, we hope you saw it and thought it was as lovely as we did!

Every once in a while, we get the opportunity to do a really special installation. Today is one of those days. For over a year, we have collaborated with an amazing client on their new home just north of Chicago. Today is the installation, and we had to share one of our favorite things: this magnificent “Lustre Confusion No. 350″ Limited Edition chandelier by Herve van der Straeten (purchased through the ever-fabulous Ralph Pucci). Isn’t it gorgeous??? It is perfect for the space, and we’re thrilled! This is the best part of what we do: watching it all come together and seeing how each piece, beautiful on its own, works with every other to become something really special. In the meantime, as you can see, there’s a lot more work to be done today…!
