A big ‘thank you’ to Today’s Chicago Woman for spotlighting Jessica’s home and gorgeous collections. Not only did they capture beautiful original Louis Sullivan architectural details (not to mention the fantastic custom cheetah rug on the stairs), but also honed in on her love of timeless treasures collected from her jaunts around the world.

The African masks shown below are called ‘passport masks’ – TCW quoted Jessica explaining that not only were they used as identification, they also warded off evil spirits.

Shagreen is a material that has a special place in Jessica’s heart. It is stingray skin and has a truly incredible texture. Not only does it dye beautifully, it is surprisingly durable. It can be used as a small wrap (as shown here in the boxes), to upholstery of larger furniture. Jessica’s collection shows just how variant and lovely shagreen really is!

And of course.. a special ‘thank you’ to Adrian Orozco of Drizz Design for the incredible photography!

We are pleased to announce our relocation to a beautiful new office! It’s chaos right now (as all moves are), but will all come together in the end (as all moves do). We will be certain to post photos of our sun-filled second-floor studio when everything is in place. In the meantime, be sure to update your address book, and the mailer will go out soon…

This month, among the flurry of activity Fall has brought us, we had a ton of fun restoring the tiniest, prettiest of chairs for Chicago Home + Garden’s Chairs for Charity. We took inspiration from the world of fashion and came up with this over-the-top luxurious little piece, auctioned to benefit Designs for Dignity. Many thanks to all the vendors who helped us make this generous donation: Mark Roe at The Furniture shop for the chair and its beautiful restoration; Gretchen Bellinger for the fabulous lace; Nancy Corzine for the luxurious silk velvet; Larsen for the glamorous patent leather; and Nathan Kirkman, one of our favorite photographers, without whom we would not have the amazing photo above. Thanks to The Tile Gallery and Chicago Home + Garden for a great event, and congratulations to the winning bidder!
